Town and Country Broadcasting have agreed a licencing deal to keep NME Radio on-air.

The station is now on Sky as well as via NME.com, with DAB and an iPhone App to follow shortly. NME Radio will become a full presenter-led service from the beginning of September.

We're pleased to be working with an established broadcaster that has successfully developed Nation Radio into one of the UK's fastest-growing stations and we are both committed to making NME Radio an even better service.”

We are delighted to be working with IPC to deliver a radio station for listeners who want a credible alternative listen and for advertisers who want to reach an attractive young audience profile.”

NME Radio launched on a number of digital platforms in 2008, as a 24 hour music service specialising in modern cutting-edge indie alternative rock music; and recently won a coveted Sony Radio Academy Award for its “groundbreaking concept and extremely fresh approach and sound.”

The station closed in June and was removed from the Digital One national DAB multiplex, after a licensing agreement with previous operators DX Media fell through.
